Summer Reading Begins

Monday June 30th

Today we officially begin our Summer Reading program. We have a fun filled summer with activities, science themed programs, special displays, and reading programs for all ages.

Children “Fizz Boom Read”

Please see a staff member to receive your calendar to track your reading for the summer and earn prizes. There will be a pizza party kick off, Science Fun Fridays, and story times. Check the online calendar or a flyer for all the dates, times, and details.

Teens “Spark A Reaction”

Teens will receive a raffle ticket with every book they check out during summer. Prizes will be awarded at the end of summer. In addition we will have Teen Thursdays every Thursday evening. Check the online calendar or a flyer for all the dates, times, and details.

Adults “Literary Elements”

Adults will receive a raffle ticket with every book they check out during summer. Prizes will be awarded at the end of summer. In addition we will have a summer book club, creative writing group, coffee connection and more. Check the online calendar or a flyer for all the dates, times, and details.

We will once again be celebrating the end of summer with our second annual Blodgett Carnival. Let’s have a great summer!

Teen Thursday (Grades 6+) Video Game Night
It’s Video Game Night! We will be breaking out the Wii and playing whatever game the group chooses. Bring your friends for some fun competition! No registration required.

We are giving a nod to Throwback Thursdays and having a board game night. Bring your friends or go against one of our teen staff members in one of our board games. No registration required.

Creative Writing Group

Tuesday August 12th    5:30-7:30pm

“Crumpled Pages” Creative Writing Group
We invite published and unpublished writers who are serious about writing poetry and/or prose. Can be short stories, books, memoirs, plays, etc. Anyone under the age of 18 will need parental consent. Our goal is to provide a forum for sharing work in a supportive environment. Comments, critiques, and exercises will be voluntary and for the purpose of allowing creativity to flourish.
Meetings will be the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
